Someone made a comment earlier stating that i havnt got a vtec engine ive just been looking into this and im beginning to belive them ive tried to check all the relevant sites but to no avail heres the details as follows EBA8 BA8 F22B most of the sites are telling me is just a si, I purchased It from a car dealer two days ago, But its got 4ws all singing and dancing could anyone confirm for me what it is, also it hasnt got vtec on the rocker cover, since this is the first one ive owned dont say ive been done over? I just phone him up and he assures me its a vtec

 

so the engine code is f22b? if so that is just the jdm version of the si. its a h23 (non-vtec) w/85 mm bore, making it a 2.2.

 

f22b1 is the engine code for the accord vtec engine, 2.2 SOHC VTEC, so the dude that sold you the car might have been thinking it was that

 

Check the chassis code (in the VIN).

BA8 - Si, non-vtec (F22B), no 4ws
BA9 - Si, non-vtec (F22B), 4ws
BB1 - Si VTEC, vtec (H22A), 4ws
BB4 - Si VTEC, vtec (H22A), no 4ws
