Default My track times

Well Yesterday I finally hit the dragway (NED). There were about 8 GSR's and 2 Type R's at the track. It was very humid and hot out but made for a great day at the track. My times were a lot higher then I expected but I have a few reasons why. First off I am running on stock GSR cams and I think that my headwork, IM, 70mm exhaust, toda header and tranny are just starving for more power. The car was pulling great and I won all 3 races (2 of them were against GSR's). No other Integra ran in the 14's, the type R ran a 15.4. Ok, now ill post my 3 runs, I also had trouble hooking up with my Kumho's and 16 inch konigs....definately getting Falken's and some rotas pretty soon. let me know what you think I need to do to get the most out of my mods. Im purchasing type r cams and cam gears very soon. Then, I am tuning it once I purchase them. My GSR is running completely rich, its mowing through gas like crazy. Could this be causing anything? And will tuning and cams, cam gears put me down in the low 14's? (14.0-14.3 area). Right now I just need tuning bad I think, because the car has enough mods thats it needs bigger cams and also needs to be running faster times

1st run, made a small shift mistake too.....
R/T .902
60 2.316
330 6.337
1/8 9.626
MPH 75.18
1000 12.467
1/4 14.845
MPH 95.19

2nd run
R/T 1.032
60 2.329
330 6.346
1/8 9.628
MPH 75.25
1000 12.477
1/4 14.857
MPH 95.19

3rd run
R/T .943
60 2.385
330 6.392
1/8 9.668
MPH 75.30
1000 12.491
1/4 14.850
MPH 96.02

There are my runs. Definately need to get my 60's down and also are my trap speeds good for better times then what I laid down? This was the first time I brought the GSR to the track. I tried different launching techniques as well.

I also met a guy with a 95 GSR, he was basically bone stock I think and was running great times (15.1). He was from Massachusetts and was definately a really nice guy, going to meet up with him and his buds sometime. If you see this message PM me so that I have your name on H-T.

Maybe its just me, but something doesnt seem right. I ran a 14.91@96.xx in my 96 GSR, and all I had was intake, s2 IM and exhaust. Thats on stock michelins also. Are you sure your car is running as well as it should be? It just seems like you should run alot quicker than that.

I think I should be running better times to. It was very humid and hot at the track, my 60's should lower, my car has headwork, toda header and 70mm exhaust which is all too big for my stock gsr cams i think are causing me to lose power. also, my tires weren't gripping well on take offs. The biggest thing of all is my VAFC needs to be tuned to the correct settings. (Im also running rich). Once I get my ITR cams and cam gears, then tuning I think I will see a drastic improvement.....even with the same wheels and tires. (rota's, falkens...here I come)

If you are serious about racing your car, why not get a set or drag rims and slicks, instead of rotas and falkens. Keep your current rims and tires, and just use the slicks at the track.

I want to race with street rims and tires. No slicks for me. Thanks for the advice though. There was a 95 GSR there, White. he had a Skunk2 IM, Intake, Clutch, Flywheel, pulley, and so on. Well he made me feel pretty good because he ran no better then at 15.6 all day. Once he ran a 16.3. Now there is a GSR with problems. On the other hand there was a near stock 95 GSR that I raced against that ran a 15.1. So right now I am just going to get the car dynoed and tuned and see what happens.(post itr cams and cam gears of course ). Then I will hit the track and let you guys know the results.

Also my trap speeds. Are they high for a 14.8 or about right?

The weather was hot and humid. I am running rich therefore drowning my motor a bit (thats where an FPR would be beneficial). Also, once I tune it I will pull better times. I am hitting NED at the end of August (the next import wars) and by then i should have ITR cams, cam gears, tuning and maybe...just maybe peak into the high 13's if its not too hot out. With my 1/8 mile and 1/4 trap speeds I should be running around a 14.3-14.4 i've been told....considering I could land a 2.0-2.1 60ft. It was my first time tracking the car and I tried a different launch everytime. Once I figure it all out I am sure I will see a lot better numbers.

You could run alot faster times with a better 60ft. I ran a 14.7@93 with a 2.2 60ft. You will get faster and better at launching.

Pat what will help ya run better is if I think you got an IAEM ITR intake and definately bigger cams and tuning for sure.

When I owned your car having lightweight wheels/tires helps out as well...and of course the driving.

when i had the car I was able to run 14.4-14.5 at ATCO raceway with just intake and exhaust and stock GSR wheels with michelins...

Just get practice driving....

My best run with the car w/o the tranny setup was a 13.9 with street tires, full tanks of gas, full interior..

The car has hidden potential

Considering a lot of factors I am not worried at all. If everything went well I could have pulled low 14's or mid 14's. I only ran 3 times, my first 3 times running the car. I know it has tons more potential and in the next month I plan to take care of some other mods that will help out tons. Thanks for the replys everyone.

no offense taken, but I SERIOUSLY insist that I did run mid 14's with the stock michelins and I have people here on HT whocan vouch for me. My car was a freak wedsday car.... and i have always gone to drag strips and illegal street racing events. I sure got a lot of practice and experience under my belt.

Believe what you want though...

Audipwr1 is going to turn my car into what its supposed to be on the track. Purchasing an ITR aem cold air intake from him, also going to sell me some yokos a008r's for my racing tires...going to do some other things as well. Then, at the end of August I'll assure much better results

no prob. There is a guy here on HT from the NJ area by the SN of "Evil GSR"
another GSR which ran much more stock than I was running like 14.0-14.2 with slicks....

I did that when i went to the track....borrow some slicks for a few runs, heat them well and knock off an extra .5 seconds off you 1/4 mile time

Im going to stay away from slicks. I want my 1/4 times to be on street tires. My goal is to get into the 13's. Hopefully that goal isn't too far away.....

Yep it shouldnt be too far away at all, if I could do it with stock GSR gear ratios, full tank of gas, full interior and spare, and run a 13.9 you could too....especially since you have the tranny set-up...

Matt, i saw a guy at NED runnig 14.7-14.9 on the stock michelins with just intake/exhuast, so mid 14s at a better track and a few more mods are def. possible.
