How bad is "limp mode"
it is a failsafe mode of operation that happens when there is a major sensor malfunction... it won't hurt your engine, but it isn't gonna run right until you get it fixed. It's basically a program within the ECU that operates off of a pre defined set engine parameters allowing you to get the car to a dealer for repair.
In limp mode, your engine can't get it up and feels inadequate compared to other engines.
Yeu covered it well, get it looked at because you don't want to run in limp mode for longer than you absolutely have to.
