Best seats for my GS-R
Based on experiences what are the best / most comfortable adjustable racing seats and who makes them. I was thinking of buying some momo or sparco seats but i cant afford them so I was thinking of getting some aerospeed seats!?! any comments or suggestions would be helpful
i have the sparco torinos in my teg.......i wouldnt exactly say that they are afordable but hey they are defenelty nice! if u want something cheap get the tenzo seats
what do you guys think of the corbeau racing seats...on a good group buy you can get the set for about $600 for the adjustable seats w/ the mounting brackets. not bad in my opinion...
I LIKE the Corbeau adjstable seats. My friend has a set of red ones in his 2000 Si. There are only 2 things that are drawbacks. 1 apparentlythe glue they use on the holes for the harnesses isnt very strong cause it doesnt hold and the 2 pieces come apart, easily solveable with some decent super glue so thats not a big deal. Problem 2, they smell like weed, BADLY. No matter what you do that smell will not go away, and his have just barely started to not smell like it. Took about 3months but its finally gone. Definately not a good thing if you frequently get pulled over, and the smell sticks on your clothes too. Other than that they are sweet, I likes alot.
I have the Corbeau Carrera's and like them alot. The rails fit perfectly for my '90 integra and don't give up any headroom. They do offgass really bad for about a week or two though. And those harness slot covers do come apart (...going to super glue those suckers together permanently though..hehehehe). If your looking to not spend a lot of money on a set of good seats (and mounts) it would be hard to find something better for under $800.
Here's a images of the seats in my integra....

As you can see from the last two pictures my integra is undergoing a transformation... from street car to race car.
And actually now everthing except the dash, sunroof, side windows, and firewall rubber sound deading sheet has been removed...totally stripped (save removing the sound deadending material) from dash back.

how are those compared to stock, holding wise around the twisties and comfort wise, for long trips.
Someone in the Classified section is selling his Tornios i think

The price on those Corbeaus is damn hard to beat...
I have a lot of experience with the Torinos, and I like em a lot. They offer GREAT support and are pretty comfortable. Yeah, that guy is selling them for $1000/obo with rails I believe...not bad.

lol... maybe they smell like weed cuz ummm... dare i say it... smoke weed in the car? lol
I'd spray some cologne all over the seats.
Or you can try wrapping the seats in a huge plastic bag, put a vacuum hose in the opening, secure the bag around the vacuum hose...and leave the vacuum on for a while.
Oh yeah, the Corbeaus have the best value IMO. I've sat in one of the lower models and I was really impressed.

I'm actually a fan of stock seats. They have great lateral support, are confortable, and are leather (looks classy and gets the panties off, j/k). Now, if you have those GAY black cloth seats with the speckles, REPLACE them. damn, I don't know why they even made those. Also, on a tan interior, the only color I could imagine puttin in there would be black. -C

a couple of questions..
What are racing seats for? are they lighter than the stocks? or just for show?

Have to agree with Type-C about women and leather...I mean I like folding the leather seats all the way back..gives me more room to operate if you know what i mean...
The racing seats are cool cause they weigh a whole lot less plus they grip better and all....
Plus if you're racing, why would you want a girl in your car..you wouldn't want to get those seats messy anyhow

Some aftermarket racing seats weigh more than stock. It's all about the side supports and to some, the "coolness" factor.
Febreze...I forgot about that stuff.

Leather became standard in 99 on all Tegs...did you get the car used?

I love the support of the Integra seats (all fabrics
. when you turn it hugs your ribs. I never slide and I have drifted in my car many times. When I got in a CRX Si, and took a fast turn I slid and almost fell out of my seat (thanks seat belt). That made me realize how good I had it. Pics:
Well '90 integra stock seats aren't that great...after one hour on the road your butt starts going numb. And while the side bolsters are there, you don't have a snug feeling like the Corbeau's give you (though I do fit tight in the side bolsters, and Im not big at all...). The Corbeaus are more comfortable than the stock ones, and I actually sit with the seat slid all the way forward (I'm nearly 6'2")! If you are short though you might not find a comfortable driving position... There's no way I would go back to the stock seats - they were my #1 complaint about the car. If you are a tall driver the best thing you can do is get rid of those uncomfortable, flat, G2 integra stock seats! Your butt and back will thank you!
