jdm gauge cluster question
I am buying a jdm ef gauge cluster for my 91 std hatch
well anyways tha guy told me,
" you will need to tap into your ecu for the speed signal. Because the speed pick up is electronic not cable like you have now...Two options find a electric speed sensor and install it in your tranny (very simple) or research it on the web and tap into your ecu for the speed signal (getting a electric sensor is the easiest
so is this true guys or what i need help, is it hard to find tha parts to make it fit on my car, thanks.

you will need to replace your cable spreed sensor with an electronic one...you can't "tap into the ecu for a signal" because there won't be one. your current cluster generates the signal that the ecu uses so once you remove that cluster there is no signal. when you install the new electric speed sensor, then the signal goes to the ecu and the speedometer. do a web search...you will find a few sites with the wiring diagram
