ok...my AFC is installed...all the wires are tapped accordingly..however, when i turn my car on...only the buttons light up, the screen does not. BUT, if i hold one of the buttons in, my idle changes, and the screen starts to light up....WTF is up with that ???? I don't get it. I've tested the wires using a multimeter and it's all good. what could possibly be wrong here ?

tapped? u mean just using connectors?
try soldering the wires. if soldered -- might be the unit itself
