Starting a pool: Guess when....
Honda will win it's next F1 race.

Win in France that year as well:

As you can see from my sig, the last Honda win in F1 was Heinz Harald Frentzen's masterful win at Monza in a Jordan Mugen Honda in Sept. 1999. It's approaching a 4 year drought. (actually Frentzen won a couple of races with that heavy Mugen Honda engine which did better than the current factory Honda engines are doing...maybe Mugen should take over with the Honda budget? and they should pay Mike Gascoyne, Jordan's tech director back then who is Renault's tech director now, whatever he asks for...Toyota is already offering him 4 million a year to jump ship.)
When will it stop?

the day after never...for some reason I thought of Michael Jackson when you said that...never mind...
they definitely need a chassis/aerodynamics guy from Renault McLaren or Ferrari. That guy they got from Williams isn't doing it this year.

Toyota.
You might know them as the only Japanese engine manufaturer with full factory support, and their very own chassis.
Mugen (Honda) doesn't stand a chance, especially not with BAR. Honda would need to return to F1 with full factory support to have a better chance than Toyota.

Wern't there rumors that BAR was going to become a Honda factory team? Anyway their next chance is when all Ferrari, Williams, Maclaren, Renault and Toyota cars retire during the race
Two or three years is more realistic.
Let's say after this off-season they do some massive R&D, as well as shake up the management structure - BAR is notoriously the most mismanaged and overstaffed team in the paddock.
That gives them a teething season to fine-tune a new chassis, fiddle with its aerodynamics, get the engine to survive a full day's work. I assume that while this hypothetical teething is going on, the top 3 teams will still be just that.
But this cannot take place without the formation of an entirely new team. New designers, new mechanics, new strategists, new funding, and new drivers. This must come first, then the new car can be built. It's going to take a while, and I think the only way it can be done is for the team to be called simply "Honda," with everything that entails.

Yeah that'll be the key, considering Hirotoshi Honda's been arrested for tax evasion, maybe he can find a way to free up some more funds for R&D?

When they trade that smelly cheese eating rat bastard
for
a near physcopath ex scandanavian Skoda rally car driver
Because it seems the team has bought to much into the whole "Patience Grasshopper" B.S. and forgot about the fact that there team is really not doing Honda much of a favor by being so low on the totem pole
At least if there were bordering on maniacle they would make there position more interesting and maybe can even pull a rabbit out of the hat every once in awhile

Bridgestone is really passing gas this year too....I mean when you look at the top 8 and 6 of the cars are Michelin runners, that can't be helping BAR this year either.
I'd be happy if they could beat Renault this year given the crappy engine Renault has but it goes to show you, engines ain't everything as Honda is learning the hard way.
I say it again: they should have kissed McLaren's *** when they had the chance and made up...

is that before they hire the first American F1 driver (Mr coos) since Michael (make another left at the next turn) Andretti?
and it's Villeneuve not Villenueve...he's not Spanish (nuevo) and we aren't ordering Huevos Rancheros for Sunday brunch tomorrow.
PS I didn't realize the IRL Honda engines were rebadged detuned Ilmor's...did you?

Sorry to disappoint you, and not that it's at all relevant, but I am. Get a sense of humor.
If/when Honda does win its next F1 race, I don't think it'll be within the next 2 years, and probably not with Sato either...I'm not sure he'd be lucky enough to drive a race well enough to win while managing not to crash either.
Bridgestone will eventually become more competitive (they have to...), and if somehow the team becomes Honda-Honda, then maybe they'll have a better chance.
They should put some of the money they're spending on Villeneuve's salary into technology at the very least for right now. Fisichella is kicking his *** and did the same last year. They should've picked up Eddie Irvine. This year, Jenson Button is also doing much better than Villeneuve. He's gotta retire sometime soon right?...then maybe after they get back the money they're spending on him they'll be more likely to win a race.
But seriously...as it stands now, they're celebrating being in the points at all...and that's not a position to be in if you plan on winning races, unless you're extremely lucky or have an exceptional driver (clearly they have neither).

Well excuuuuuuuse me, Mr. Bias!
I didn't realize that a mispelling of two letters would hurt your ***** so much! Remember, this is just an opinion written in black text on a white background, damn!
But anyways, BAR is going nowhere with Villeneuve. Hell, even the slightly better Button isn't safe. Plain and simple, they need to clean house and start from the ground up with some major backing from Honda!

There, maybe i'll remember next time!

The rumor was that when the tobacco sponsorship ban comes into place in 2006, that Honda would make it a full factory team. To answer the question, I'll say 2005, probably with Michelin.
