they are supposed to only signal, some people wire markey lights to steady burn as parking lights and signal as well. Its eye catching at nite... that can be good or bad... depending on who is looking.

Hey Jon,
I was planning on putting those jdm side markers on my car for the signal purposes since I don't have any signal lights in my front bumper. Can you send me some pics if you have any? One more question; where did you get them and how much are they?
Thanks,

in japan no amber is on when the headlights are on. only on when you signal.

They should be wired to only turn on when you signal. The only way and the best way.

Thats what I did with mine. I just wired them directly to the front signal lights. Looks amazing. My favorite apperance mod so far. (well except the wheels )

i did wire mine to the front turn signal but as soon as i turn my lights, (one click or two) the sidemarkers come on. should it be wired to the inside half(facing forward) or the outer part of the signal? either way both lights are on when my headlights are on so im not sure how im gonna do this.. .

you can also wire them to be both on and flash as turn signals, but they will flash opposite the turn signals if the parking lights are on.

IMHO it looks retarded like that, just wire them as turn signals like they should be.

you need to splice to the HIGH power wire to your front blinker (i'm assuming you have a 98+ DC2). The front blinker bulb (the big one) has 3 wires coming out of it... HIGH power (the flash when blinking), LOW power (the steady ON... aka parking light), and GROUND.

You should probably use a volt meter to know which one is the HIGH (I guessed and got lucky..lol). Then wire up the sidemarker using the HIGH and GROUND... voila... instant turn signal sidemarker.

EDIT: Crap you have a 95 GSR. I'm not really sure, but I'm almost positive both the bulbs in the bumper lens blink? If one of the bulbs have 3 wires, it should be good to go. Otherwise, find the bulb that is never on but only blinks, and use those wires

its the same with 94-97.

hook the ground up to the ground wire that is provided for the bumper lenses, then take it to the high powered one. just get some T-Taps from lowes or where ever, and tap into the wire. if its not that wire, take it off, put tape on it, and try the other wire.

unless u have a voltmeter.

On the 94-97 cars the smaller side bulb in the bumper lens functions the same way as I described above, flashes with turn signal, on w/ parking lights, but flashes opposite the turn signal if the parking lights are on. I think it looks retarded (especially when you also have sidemarkers that are only turn signals) so I rewired the small bumper lens bulb to be a parking light only. It never flashes now, and is only on when the parking lights are on. IMHO it looks much better that way.
