Default Gauge cluster problem???

I was driving my car today and my speedo on my cluster went all the way down to 0, enven though I was driving at about 60. Then all of a sudden it came back up to speed, then it went down again. The tach, coolant temp and gas gauge all worked, just the speedo went wacko down to 0. Any ideas????

Where exactly on the tranny will I find such a sensor? I have a Y21 tranny if that matters. Thanks
