Guttin a cat with OBD2... ???'s
Hey,
Running a turbo setup. Took off my cat for a day and loved the difference in performance but the sound. Open DP is way too loud. A couple guys told me to just gut the cat. My question is since I have OBD2, I have to O2 sensors, don't there readings have to be different? So therefore, wouldn't guttin the cat make the readings pretty much the same? If I'm wrong let me know. I just don't want to F up a perfectly good cat the freaking $$$ to replace if I had to.
Eventually I want to run 3" w/ no cat, 2.5" dp with an HKS muffler but don't have the money now.

Don't gut the cat, it will go from small-inlet to big chamber to small outlet, kind of like a resonator. Loss of performance, if anything. Test pipe or high performance cat is the only way to go.
