Default How much power can stock internals handle

I'm doing a jdm h22 swap into my civic and i was wondering i have enough left over to go turbo. I've heard that the h22 isn't to turbo freindly but i've heard that from the b series guys and the H is a whole nother beast. So how much could i run psi and how much power could the stock internals handle

I've seen quite a few stock Prelude motors make 240WHP on 8psi w/o any problems. I wouldn't go any higher than that. Some people push it to 9 or 10psi, but I wouldn't dare hit 10psi or anything higher.

my brother is doing 9-11 psi and using a NX fogger kit over the intercooler to make the air super dense

talk to firedrake i beleive he pushed it to 12 psi, but i wouldn't go over 8.

edit: saw it was jdm, you might want to install a thicker headgasket since the jdm's have higher compression.

thats what i figured kinda like all honda motors. I saw the thread for the prelude turbo with like 600 plus posts and i kept reading that the ring landings suck.

the ring lands are the first to go for sure. prob was till now, if you wanted to go forged pistons, you needed to resleeve.

weisco makes the first frm friendly forged piston. there is a member on here, sorry i cant remember who, that is running these. last i checked he had~3-4k on it and was getting ready to boost, i beleave.

just go to Solid-technology.com look at project cars - brians prelude...

I have a 95 jdm H22A1 that i am putting in my 94 LS integra, and I'm going to buy his EXACT turbo setup...he made 311whp on 9 psi, daily driven, and it is now tuned to 11 psi, still daily driven...

you could make 320 whp on your motor, BONE STOCK, and in your car....low 11's, depending on traction/altitude/driver...stuff like that..

TUNING, TUNING, TUNING....that is the stuff dreams are made of
...and how they are accomplished

TUNING IS THE KEY

get a good tuner and you can get some pretty nice #'s, but dont expect your motor to last too long, eventually the ringlands or something of that nature will fail
