I want to know how is rev matchin i know what it does is it helps your synchros and get in gear easier but How much are you supose to go to rev match????? I drive a 01 GSR and i want to know whats are all the rpms to rev match 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th gear. Also double clutchin isn't it the same like Rev Match??? How does this helps you drive faster or better????? Thanks for all the help.
I don't think it would be faster unless you are tracking the car.It is a lot smoother though.Double clutching is your best bet. With double clutching you will be matching revs at the same time.It goes like this,Let's say you are in 5th and want to go to 3rd at 70mph.In a gsr with stock wheels 70 should be 3500 rpm.Third it should be in the neighborhood of 6 grand or so.I dunno I have an ITR.Anyhow,It goes like this in one smooth motion,Take your foot off the gas, clutch in,pull out of 5th into nuetral, clutch out,rev to the engine speed you need(in this instance 6k or so)clutch in,put the gear selector in 3rd,clutch out.Basically all you are doing is reving the car while the selector is in nuetral then putting it in a lower more efficient gear. You can see in the instructions I gave why it is called "Double clutching"Heel toe is the same thing except while you are reving the engine your doing so with your heel and you are using the tip of your foot(toe)to apply the brake.I hope that wasn't confusing.Try doing it at a slower speed at first.I was only using 5th-3rd as an example.Good luck

Yeah i understand thanks. I'm just scared that if I might go too high and in lower gear my engine might blow up or *** up? Like 5th - 3rd is a big jump..
Well, your best bet is to find out what the maximum mph in every gear is and don't exceed that.Obviously 70mph is too high for 2nd so don't put it in 2nd.With no torque putting it in 4th at that speed would be little benifit.I constantly do 5th-3rd downshifts. As long as you aren't going any faster than 3rd gear would allow nothing will happen
if you aren't racing a 5th to 3rd jump (just imo) is not nessisary. the only time you really should have to downshift on the streets of america is when you are getting off of the freeway. what I do for that is I drop to 60mph is 5th, then shift to 4th and give the throttle a blip before I engage the clutch, the first few times you do this you will not do it right, but once you get the hang of it, and figure it out, you will be able to do it without problem.
engine braking imo is helpful, but I would rather replace my brake pads (which were designed to slow my car down) than a clutch, or something worse than that even.

Plugg,no that is why you are matching revs.Samagon,I guess I must be racing everday going around all those over passes on the way to work.
