URGENT question need help PISTON RINGS
I briefly searched with no luck - can anyone help me out? I am under the impression that short of disassembling the whole block there is no way to tell if the rings are bad..... I have the head off and motor somewhat torn apart now, if there is something I should be looking for or will I just have to take it all appart.
Also is it necessary to replace all the bearings when doing this or are there any that will be reusable?
Thanks for any info...getting help with the wrenching but just wondered a few questions for my own sake before I go any further.
Thanks in advance

theres really no way to tell i dont think by just lookin at it but maybe the cylinder walls would be darkeded by oil stains or something... and i re used my same bearings when i did it and it was fine just dont hit them or anything and dont hit the piston too hard when tapping it out or it will crack.
there is something you can do its called a clt test cylinder leakage test. its diff than a compression test. if air is coming from the dipstick tube then the rings are bad and it will say what percentage of air is leaking past it will also show leaks through head gasket and valves
