DAHM THAT IS LIGHT!!!!!!!!!!! I could probably gain .6 seconds in the 1/4 by switching chassis from a LX to a CRX. Maybe ill do that.

I want to know what the 75-80 lbs difference is between the Dx's and the Si's?? The only thing that is different between the 2 is the fact that the Si has a sunroof otherwise they are identical so where is this extra weight coming from?? Well besides the 90-91's because the Si's have the rear disc's which weigh a little bit more than drums but I dont get all that weight they add between the 2??!! Oh and a sunroof assembly weighs about 35 lbs.

Remember that the Si has 10 more horses..that's not just out of nowhere...check the engine for the added weight, perhaps? That doesn't account for all of the weight, but I'd assume the rest is small things dealing with the suspension. If someone thought about it enough, they'd figure it out, I am sure...

OK well I understand with the motor but the only differences there is the intake manifold and that cant be too much different??!! Anyone have a complete mpfi intake manifold they can weigh?? I have a complete dpfi one I can weigh. As for the suspension DX's and Si's suspension are the same except that the Si's have a rear sway bar again not very much weight there. OK so you have the sunroof 35 lbs, the intake maybe 5lbs difference?? the rear sway bar 10 lbs about so that adds up to 50lbs and I should have said only 75-80lbs difference cause on top the 88's are abut 95lbs difference!! so where is the extra 40-45 lbs coming from??!!

OK according to you website it goes like this

88's HF 1819 DX 1922 Si 2017
89-90's HF 1967 DX 2103 Si 2174
91's HF 1960 DX 2097 Si 2167

So according to your website 2 years of CRX's which in a lot of weighs are different weigh the exact same??!! I know for a fact that 89 and 90 HF's arent the same considering in 89 the HF's had the pillar mount seatbelts and the 90's had door mounted so there is more wieght right there. I think you messed up on your weights there cause if anything the 90 and 91's should weigh the same not the 89 and 90's. Also the 90 Si's have rear disc's where the 89's dont so again more weight and I highly doubt that the 89's would be heavier than the 90/91's the 90/91's are the heaviest CRX's made.

This website I would believe a bit more
88 HF 1819 DX 1922 Si 2017
89 HF 1834 DX 2048 Si 2138
90/91 HF 1967 DX 2103 Si 2174

There are lots of little things that add up to make the heavier cars. I have a 1991 STD Hatch, which is the lightest of all the 1991 hatches, by over 100 lbs I think.

The 1.6 is heavier than the 1.5. 4 gears in the trans is lighter than 5 gears. No options, man! Manual crank windows are lighter than a heavy power window motor(x2). Removed sway bars(I never even checke dif theres one in the front..)Less sound insulation. No rear decklid. No heavy sunroof. No stereo + speakers. No rear wiper/motor/linkage. Tiny 13" rims and tires. Hell, not even a lighter/power outlet.

Everything is skimped on the base/light cars to make them lighter. Its not a lot at each place, but every 2 lbs here and 3 lbs there add up.

My STD will probably be over 2200 lbs when I'm done with my B18A swap..

Yeah, I hear you. Once I swap a new engine (unless it is a D-series..), then I can say good-bye to my weight advantage. Although, I'll have one helluva weight to power ratio...

Oh, yeah, more things that make them heavier:

SI has power steering pump and hoses and bracket
SI has air conditionaing pump hoses, condenser, tanks, etc

Thats probably 50 lbs worth between those 2 things there.

Woohoo!! New P30 pistons and PnP head arrived :-)

OK first no USDM CRX has power steering so you can take that weight away and second you can get a DX with air conditioning so again that doesnt add into the difference.

Again I was talking about a CRX Si and DX so with that being said you can get a DX with a 5 speed, power windows arent an option on CRX's in the states, A DX has a radio just like the Si (in fact all radio option are the same like rear speakers and so on), There is the same amount of sound deadening in the Si and DX (trust me I have had both of them gutted side by side) DX has the rear wiper and cigarette lighter, also the deck lid. That si opne thing I did forget though is that the Si's have the 14's and the DX's have the 13's.
OK so everything that I can think of would be rear sway bar, rear disc brakes, possibly a heavier intake, sunroof, and 14's instead of 13's. I cant think of anything else at the monet but I think that would be about it.
