What would be the reasons for the cables to keep breaking, this is my third cable!

There is a thick rubber boot around where it goes into the tranny.
DO NOT REMOVE BOOT when replacing cable.
It's proably breaking cause it installed wrong.
Got helms?
There is a trick to removing and re-installing it correctly.

My Bad. You are right. sir.
Can't find CRX helms'.
But in Integra helms it says the boot stays on the trans end of speedo cable. There is a cir-clip underneath the boot that holds cable in place.
EDIT* Found the 1990 CRX helms. I was correct the 1st time.
ON CRX's with D series trans and engine.
You DO NOT remove rubber boot. You squeeze and twist boot then, you pull speedo cable out of the boot and boot stays on transmission.
Page 5-5 1990 CRX Sevice Manual. In engine removal section.
On B series engine/trans see above posts.
