I just recieced my AEM CAI the other day along with the water bypass valve. After I recieced it my mom called acura to see if it would void the warranty and the sales manager said that it would. I wasn't around when she called so I'm sure she told them exactly what I got (yeah right). Anyway she won't let me stick it on now until we find out for sure. You see the thing is that she thinks that if anything happens to the car, for example a broken control arm, she thinks that my warranty will be void if they see the CAI on the car. I believe the dearlership is throwing BS just to cover their butts. It was to my understanding that nothing voids the warranty unless it can be proven that the part installed was the direct cause of the engine failure. If someone could please back me up on this it would be helpful. I just paid $250 for the intake and the bypass valve. I am a responsible person and wouldn't have bought the CAI if I thought it would hurt my car. If you guys could point me to some info to back up my case it would be appreciated. Thanks
i believe its www.sema.org ..this site holds info on warranties and how they are affected by mods..but you are correct, the dealership must prove the mod directly caused whatever to happen..anything like a VAFC or power FC will void i believe the whole drivetrain/electronics warranty. but u are correct..AEM WONT VOID WARRANT unless u hydrolock and expect them to pay for it. tell ur mom and that dealership to whats up.

I have a AEM CAI, N-1, and N-1 suspension on my car and never had a problem with getting warrenty things taken care of. For example, a few months ago (I'm sure you remember) I bent all the vavles in my car and all the parts were covered under warrenty. Actually, I was lucky that they even covered that cause it had nothing to do with the car messing up. It was drivers error. My dealer told me that the intake and other mods had nothing to do with valves bending and it all had to with me. The dealer has to prove that your mods cause your problem. Your intake would not have anything to do with a control arm breaking, your radio messing up, or your antenna not going up. If so, they would have to prove it. Hope this helps you out.
