no vtec ecu will work but a non vtec will
i did a jdm h22a swap into my prelude and now my car runs like crap with the h22a ecu in it which is a p13 so i put my old p14 in from my h23 motor in and it runs great just no vtec. so if anyone knows whats goin on let me know.

did you adjust the timing after the install? is your p13 a 5-spd or manual. Becare with the p14 i believe it will cause your h22 will run lean. Also what do you mean by "runs like crap" poor idle? no idle? bogs? be more specific.

ok i had a shop wire in the vtec and they checked timing and everything becuase it wouldnt run right at all. and the p13 ecu was an auto but the p28 ecu is a manual ecu. and it spits and sputters and wont accelerate at all up the rpms with the vtec ecu's but the p14 works great except no vtec. with both the p13 and p28 it idles horrible i have to give it gas just to keep it idling. it idles aroun 2-400 rpm's. if anyone has any ideas get back to me im puzzled
nevermind peoples i figured it out thanx to the guys at autoworks in MI they know thier shiznit. they helped me out over the phone and got me goin. it ended up being my injectors they were to small for the ecu and it was running to lean. thanx for your help anyways. check out autoworks for any of your questions.
