Problems getting my Hytech Header together?

I finally got my Hytech exaust system in the mail today and was test fitting everything together. Everything looked good until I tried to get my header together. The four pipes coming off the header flange don't seem to line up with the collector pipe. It seems that I cannot get all four pipes to line up to fit into the merge collector. I tested each pipe individually and they would fit the collector , but getting them into the collector is a whole different ball game. Is this normal? Any tips or suggestions would be appreciated guys!
Some pics:
See how spread out the Header pipes are:
Compared to the collector:
Can't get them lined up:
I know someone will say just push the pipes together, well let me say I already tried that but it's stainless steel tubing and will only bend so much not to mention the fact that I can only push one pipe so far without running into the adjacent pipe.

So it's not just me who thinks it's strange it doesn't fit together like buttah? That's a relief. Box looks fine, no damage to external shipper...it was filled with newspaper and bubble wrap. I'll talk to John tommorow I guess.

My entire Hytech system needed a little persuasion to fit together
However, i do have on of the older prototypes

this is what you need to do.
go buy a large hose clamp and try to clamp the header pipes together.
and then put the merge collector on. hit it in lightly with a piece of wood.
yes, that's how you do it. that's what i was told. and i own a HyTech header.
it's for sale. See my sig.

sit the flange end part flat on the floor with the cat end of the primaries facing up to the ceiling. Get a soft rubber mallot. Slip the secondaries cat end part on. Get a screwdriver and line up the side bolt holes. Tap the side bolt mounts with your mallot once the screwdriver has lined the mounts up. They should slide in nicely as you tap them in . I suggest you take the advice of spraying the outside of the pimaries at the slipover portion with antiseize before slipping them over one another. If you have a friend to help you hold the flange end up that makes it a bit easier but I did it all myself. I called John and he said that was the "trick" to doing it. Make sure you tighten both nuts on each side all the way because if you don't, they're a bitch to get at under jackstands....a hoist is another story....

Here's what you do. Contact Hytech and ask them why your custom $1200 header doesnt fit right, I'm sure he will take care of it.

All this is not necessary, it should fit without hassels.

Thanks s2geeze and MD. I'll try that out and see if I can get the header together.

LOL! Yeah I do like 100 reps a day though, but it's just for a cardio workout.

C'mon Tuan nuttin for nuttin but for the money he most likely paid, shouldn't it all just slip together effortlessly?
Now I fully understand why John wanted me to ship my header to him to set up the jig for the catback. But, I'd hope that it would all fit together alot better for the price and the effort.

Quit trying to get the last word.
Can you disput the FACT that it doesnt fit right? Like I said call John and I'm sure he'll take care of it.

No not really. There is a general B18C header that most people have. There may be some differences due to him deciding to do different things along the line of making them. Of course if you want something different then you can get that too but mostly it's the same header he makes for all the B18C customers.
But yes, screwdriver in the bolt holes does the trick like mentioned before. I didn't have too much trouble putting mine back on. The way the header is 2-piece with no flange it's pretty difficult to build the header to get a perfect line-up.

I also simply used a large screwdriver. In my situation - only one was really in need of manuvering to make the entire piece slip onto the other.
Like someone else stated - every exhaust manifold is custom ...it's a small price to pay for the best product.
Chris - who is happy w/ his exhaust.

Exactly. It took 5 min. There's a technique.
Anton, I'm not here to have a pissing contest with anyone about people's expectations for the price. I just answered the question based on my experience with the item to help this guy out.
Everything else is politics and advertising which this forum has a sufficient amount of.
And BTW for the record, I get along fine with both John and Dave. Maybe there's some Swiss blood in me....

I hear ya, T. and I wasn't trying to insinuate anything. Or start any more rivalry postings. (Lord knows there's been enough of those already.)
I would just hope for the least amount of issues or problems for this header or any custom piece from either John or Dave. Especially when you factor in the custom work and money invested.
I would expect it all to just slip together.

Anton: it slips in. there's a technique to do it easily. you can do it your own way or the tried & true easy way...
even some "bolt-ons" are not easy straight-forward bolt-ons...so I don't know where you're going with this...

I can dispute it because I put one together. Oh and BTW THOSE were John's instructions to me for my Hytech and so no-one had to call anyone: the reason why I posted here in the first place. But Eva01 can call John . You, on the other hand, like any common troll poser / ricer is talking through your *** and wanting to start an argument. We can tell.
