My radio is locked, does any one know the code?
The radio is locked on my '95 'lude vtec. I know I can get the dealership to fix it but I don't have anything better to do than ask you guys.
i think that all radios have their own code...call the dealership and give them ur VIN number then they'll look it up and give u the code...ya know
Dealers can't retrieve a radio code via the vehicles VIN..
They will need the serial number of the radio in order to get the code..
serial number is located on the radio housing..

Look around for the code. They always give you a card with the code printed on it when you buy the car. Sometimes there is a sticker with the code on the inside of the fuse box cover under the hood or under the dash. Check those out before paying the dealer anything. But to get it from teh dealer, you need the VIN and the serial number.
If you put an incorrect code in three times, it will no longer accept codes, even if you pull the fuse and put it back. This was my experience, anyways. However, I was able to enter the correct code by pulling the radio fuse under the hood, turing the key to the first click, turning on the radio (at which point "Code" was displayed), putting in the correct code (at which point the radio became unlocked but the antenna didn't go up), turning everything off, putting hte fuse back in, turning the key back to the first click, turning the radio back on ("Code" was displayed again), then putting in the correct code again. Now the radio was unlocked and the antenna went up. It was a relief because I thought I might have to take it to the dealer when it wouldn't take any more codes!

I had a problem like this when I removed the radio from my car and reinstalled it. I tried to guess the code but after a few tries it stopped taking codes for a while. After a few hours ( I got pissed and let it sit over night so couldn't say how long really) I removed it and called the dealer I bought it from. I gave them the serial number of the radio over the phone and they pulled the code out of some book and gave it to me, no charge. If you didn't buy the car from a dealer, I might suggest that you stop by one and snag a salesman's name to throw around on the phone if need be
Look in your manual. It should be in there. If you have one, cause I didn't get one with my car, just go to the dealership and ask them
Last time I disconnected my battery I was worried about trying to find my code when I got home. On the way I put a cd in and it started working without the code. Give that a try. . . it may have just been a fluke.

It's a factory tape deck with a factory cd changer. I'm thinking I'm going to change the deck out for cd, but I don't know when and in the mean time I need something to listen to.
