I've used the Mobil 1 and the Red Line oil (not the shock proof formula, just the regular gear oil). Couldn't tell the difference between the two when driving to be honest.

there is no suitable "OEM" diff. fluid for the s2k. the only thats available is the VTM4 which is made for crvs,etc. i recommend castrol hypoid c gear oil 75w90/80w90.

 

Been using Mobil 1 75W-90 as this is widely available.

 

I highly recommend Swepco 201 gear lube. call it one of those little tricks handed over from the Porsche guys. runs approximately 30-40 bucks a gallon which will last through three changes.

NEO Synthetic gear oil is the best stuff I have seen for any rear end..

 

I am experiencing severe axle whine with my 2010 Cross tour,any suggestions for a lub ?

Royal Purple 75w-90. I use Royal Purple in everything.

I won't touch the OEM: dealer sold me incompatible Ridgeline/Pilot oil.

haha what a helpful thread, everybody uses something different. i used the LE 1605 and no problems what so ever. same as the guy above me used but the newer version. its a rich dark red formula kind of weird but works. got it from here: http://ricks2k.com/products/le1605.php

im sure you can use any of the ones listed above, just give it a frequent fluid change...my .02

 

i've been using this for over 2 years on my track car, no complaints here.

Amsoil 75w140 (I use 140 b/c the way that PuddyMod built the diff and it requires it for Road Racing. Amsoil has always worked for me. I also used the old LE1605 fluid from HTG.

 

I use Silkolene BOA90 LS high performance gear and LSD oil.

Good quality stuff.

 

LE-1605 here, too.

I swapped the dif fluid out when I bought the car and so far only have put 2500 miles on it. No issues though!

 

I use Red Line MTL & it works great.

I just switched from the RP back to the Mobile 1. The RP just seemed to break down to quickly. Its viscosity thins incredibly fast. I'll never use it again in my diff.
