Every Prelude owner knows that the only thing we have going against us is weight. What are some ways of removing weight on the Prelude? Try to post step-by-steps with a good initial description on top ie. CRUISE CONTROL REMOVAL. Maybe we can get a good thread going here.
Remove spare tire:
Remove trunk floor mat
Remove spare tire
Return or not return trunk floor mat
Remove back seat/Passenger seat:
Unscrew seats from car
Remove from car
Bonus: With no seats you will never have to give friends a ride or be designated driver

Is it that hard to determine what to take out a what not to.
Take out anything you want to. i.e.
interior panels
ash tray
seats
carpet
ABS
Cruise control
AC Alternator
Sound deadening material
dash
radio brake sheilds
center console
headlights
side markers
Moonroof

Some stuff that may be obvious to you, may not be obvious to others.
Posting the weight of the parts would also be beneficial to this thread. With the weights being posted, people can decide on what to remove to reach their goal of a set weight.

I stripped the trunk down to the metal, took out the backseats, jack and spare, and my car weighed in at 2740 lbs. with a half tank of gas. I've since taken out the rear interior panels and seatbelt assemblies, but haven't gotten another chance to weigh.
BTW: that is in a 92 si.
EDIT: maybe that will help some...

I don't see why people rip apart their interiors for what, a half a sec.
i personally would rather have a good lookin car unless you're
goin all out drag with the car yo

I weighed in at 2700 with no sound deadening, no radio, no carpet, no cruise(it weighed a lb at most), and I stripped the car from the driver's seat back. I did have the spare tire and the jack in, along with some miscellaneous crap so drop another 30 lbs off and you get 2670. It is honestly pretty easy to get to 2600(ITR weight) if you get some lighter seats, a CF hood, and remove the AC.

Most girls prefer to sit in the "passanger" seat. I think that why there's a seat next to the driver; the rear seats, in any 2 door import, are for contortionists, or maybe a sick joke. Or, if you prefer to stuff your bound and gagged strippers in the back.

Something that hasn't been mentioned would be the windshield washer fluid resovior, lines, and fluid. I took that out on mine because it never got used, with a full tank of that crap I probably lost almost 10lbs from the front, didn't weigh it though. Taking the AC compressor and all extra parts is one of the best ways... removes drag from the engine and front end weight too so it is a really good thing to do, and also taking off the power steering.
Look at it this way, we got Preludes because they were the nice Honda, if we wanted to have no AC, cruise, power options, ABS, etc then we could have gotten a Civic hatch, stripped it and put the Lude engine in. I might strip mine of the rear seats because they suck, but I am going to put a system in there so it will end up weighing more.... oh well, whatever floats your boat, its your car so if you only race it and want it as light as possible take anything you dont need off, look at a drag car to see how bare a car can be, if you enjoy cruising around in a nice car that is enjoyable at times other than when you are at the strip or autoX, then keep the weight.

My car is about 2620 w/ a full rollcage and full tank of fuel.. I have to keep the bumper supports, big *** battery too, thats w/ the ABS and PS systems as well, but that is being taken out this week..
I have a minimum weight I have to race with, and thats 2725 w/ the driver, after the race is completed.. Although I am removing my PS and ABS systems, I can legally do that and add weight do the passenger side of the car, on the floor.. Taking weight of the nose of the car and position it lower and further back will do wonders!

Taking out the cruise control to lose a pound?
Seek therapy...

The CC was just an eyesore that I never used anyways. And don't anybody say that if I ever take any long trips that I'll want it because I've driven from WI to AL and WI to TX without it and it didn't bother me one bit. Eventually I'll have nothing in the engine bay but a motor, a radiator, and a pair of slave cylinders.
