does the brand matter...?
ive jus reached 31k on my 01 accord...strangely i began hearing squeaking sounds from my rear brakes....seems to only occur once and awhile though but i heard you need to change your pads every 25-30k?...if so, where would i go and buy brakes...i know about kragen and all that but i heard axxis makes good brakes..fairly cheap also..does the brand matter or is a brake a brake...cept for AEM big brakes...they jus big
your brake bads have a wear indicator that will make them squeek all the time when braking. if it's an occasional squeek i wouldn't worry especially at 31k unless your really hard on your brakes.
you dont need new brakes you just need pads, unless you're a track ***** i would just get some oem replacements to avoid any unnecessary wear on your rotors, but you don't need to change them unless the sound becomes persistent, random occurrences are normal.
just buy a step above the cheapest pads and you'll be fine. I try to steer away from the cheapest because there's a reason they are cheap - wear faster, less heat tolerance......but for street driving and any other use really you don' tneed any fancy ones...unless you don't want brake dust.
Buy OEM for regular/spirited driving...
Perfect fit every time, best quality/wear/lower dusting...worth the few extra bucks.
I learned my lesson w/ some $25 Bendix pads...(cracked rotors)
