ok hey i am going to look at new engines and i need to look alot at reliability so it starts when i need it to im looking at b18b b18c h22 b16a or if you have anyother suggestions im am amed at the b18b right now cause in the future like next summer i plan to turbo it and that fun stuff.

Once you put a turbo on, your reliability disappears.

EDIT: Go with the B18c1. Or if you want to save money for a turbo go with the B18b.

 

if youre going to race any car the reliability wont be as good obviously. i wouldnt say reliability disappears when you turbo a motor. id say it depends on how well its tuned, how hard you beat on it, and just the motor itself. i sprayed a 75 shot for a year then a 100 shot for 6 months on a stock block GS-R and it still has perfect compression and doesnt smoke. if youre worried about reliability, research what you want to do and do it right the first time so you dont turn your car into a lemon.

any of those motors u listed would be reliable if it was taken care of and not abused. if you're turboing it, it all depends on tuning and knowing your limits if the motor isnt built.

built or not, every motor is susceptible to breaking.

 

yea i no its gonna get babied and only somtimes gonna get driven pretty hard not very often like when i take a trip to the track which is a hour away or sometimes out in the country.

so u want reliability and turbo huh.... youl find alot of hidden costs on that one.

Just get a b16 swap and enjoy it....you'd probably kill yourself out in the country with the turbo.....hit a cow or some ****... I used to live in NJ...out in the far burbs...I saw a guy hit a cow....it aint pretty...


B16 will be more than you need....then build up from there...
