Where do u hook up Oil Catch Can's?
just wondering.. cuz i made my own catch can.. and i ran the hose from.. the valve cover to the can, and the other hose to the cai? i thought that's how it is supposed to be? or am i wrong? cuz it's not doing anything right now? no oil or anything is running thru there?
That is not the right area.
Air comes in from the intake through the hose to the valve cover, no oil goes through that area.
You want to put it between the PCV valve and the IM.

i have a 99 gsr with turbo. currently i have a breather filter on my valve cover and have yet to hook up my catch can. when i called greddy they told me to run a line from the inlet piping to my turbo to the can to the valve cover. now i have seen numerous posts that say to go the way you suggested but what do i do at the valve cover since i have read that a breather is terrible for it.
thats all??? then what about what greddy said?
also since i heard that oil can be found in the breather filter so then if i ran it from the cover to the intake piping would that be causing oil to get in there as well?

There is oil on the breather filter because there is no positive pressure going into the valve cover, so air is expelled.
A line from the pre-turbo intake piping will have some air running into the valve cover and create positive pressure so oil will flow through the PCV system properly.
I have pulled my intake -> valve cover piping many a times and no hints of oil are in there.

The best is to go between the PCV and Valve cover to a catch can, and let it sit there. Don't route it back into your intake. Racer style is to route it back into your exhaust and let it burn off, but that can get messy.
there is no hose that goes from the valve cover to the PCV valve.
There are two hoses in the PCV system
Intake -> Valve cover. Which ventilates the crank case, which those tiny breather filters do not do adequately. Look at enedyns engines that have breather filters, they drill and weld more than one spot and have several of them.
Then there is the PCV -> IM which normally recirculates the blowby and oil vapor that comes out of the PCV.
That is where you want the oil catch can, as it will trap most of the oil vapor and blowby, so you don't burn it again or risk detonation.
