tach wiring
i just bought a 01' LS and i got this 5in tach with shift light froma a friend but im not exactly sure on how to wire it properly.. i no where the gorund and power wire goes but there are a green and blue wire also.(the two wires im confused on where exactly they go)
people add those big monster tachs just for looks on tegs,actually my stock tach works better then my freinds aftermarket one.. there is no need for a tach ,if you feel a need just add a shift lite.
usually there's a red, black, green, and white wire...green is your tach signal..the white wire(or blue in your case) is an accessory power for the light in the tach..red is power, black is ground.
on the car's harness near the master cylinder. It's a blue wire.
If you want to tap off the distributor. It's a blue wire.
On the tach being that it's autometer:
Green = Tach
Red = 12v power
Black = ground
White = 12v accessory (lights)
Be sure it's cut for a 4 cylinder otherwise it'll read incorrectly.
