Hiflow Cat?
How much difference would it make to switch to a Random Technology High-flow cat? Has anyone noticed a performance difference? I'm about to put a Comptech SS exhaust on my '00 GSR and I was wondering if it was worth it to replace the cat.
Another question for you all... What brand exhaust seals would you recommend? The ones I got with this used Comptech are in pretty bad shape along with the bolts. The exhaust itself is fine.

If you are looking for a hi-flow cat stay away from Random, they flow only marginally better than stock and many people have had problems with them falling apart. Talk to Dave at SMS Products about a Carsound cat, its a great piece, and Dave has great prices. As for the seals I hi-temp liquid copper gasket which you can find at any Kragen, Autozone, its in an orange tube.

Yea, ok. Um well here's the other side of the coin.
My random cat has been awesome to me. High flow for sure, with out question.
My old carsound cat made my car slower, I sold it a week later when the random cat came in.
As for breaking, my buddies Random cat busted, but his dumbass is lowered like 3" and he hit the thing. That's how he busted it.

So, has anyone ever gotten an SS exhaust from Comptech and needed to replace the seal between the B pipe and the short section? I got a part number from Comptech, but it seems silly to ship a $2 part. Anyone know of a Felpro or Mr Gasket replacement?
Seriously, if you use the "Ultra Copper" liquid gasket stuff, it'll seal fine. It's a high-temp gasket maker. I've used it on 3 different exhausts, and it's done the trick every time.
