need reflector help!!

need reflector help!!
i have my headlights open and i was wondering if i paint the actual reflector part around the bulb or if i can only paint the housing piece. will this look weird and will it still be bright. i need help fast. i dont want it to look funny with dark housing and then a shiny part around the bulb. thanks alot
