Default Apexi GT Spec header?

I guess there aren't a lot of guys running this header, I searched and came up empty handed. I hear that it not that great for peak numbers but that's not what I'm interested in. I want to beef up the midrange as much as possible with a mild N/A build because I want to start auto x next season. I plan on getting Skunk2 Stage 1's, Hondata S100 and possibly CTR pistons (Oh, I'm getting rid of my Evo in favor of a WS). I was just wondering if anybody had any experience with how the header changes the powerband and if you guys think it could support the Stage 1's. If you have the GT Spec post up your setup and dyno plots if you have them.

i'll tell you this: i had the option to buy one of these or a DC 4-1 for my little bro. i opted for the DC. one, the price, you can get a good SMSP or AN-R or another one of those for the same price. Even a TODA. It is a great unit, but it is for way up top with the designs.

I have the GT header on my integra that I bought off a member here. I really can't tell you where it made power, because at the time I installed it I also installed a test pipe and new intake.
But with the header, the car did get considerably faster. This is with apexi intake, header, exhaust.
I'm going to use the GT header and 60mm apexi piping with stage 2s, ill let you know how it turns out

he /\/\/\/\ bought mine, I used it on my mildly tuned GSR sedan. the best part is that the Apewxi header is VERY much lighter than the stock gsr cast iron header.

I moved to a Spoon JDM 4-1 tri-y header so I could run more power... big cams, higher redline, etc.

the Apexi is nice but kinda pricey compared to the DC sports offereings.

Thanks for the replies guys. But in my experience DC makes a good design but quality is a different story. Suffice to say DC products will never be on my car... But nobody has any dynos?

Well which one are you talking about? In my expieriences the GT Manifold is one of the best USDM collector headers on the market. However I could never see myself buing one of these. On options website they have a GT Manifold listed uner ITR as a JDM spec 2.5" collector header. Anyone have expierience or seen one of these? I've never seen it on APEXi's site or anywhere else.

I'm talking about this one. I'm almost certain it has the 2.25" collector though...http://www.apexi-usa.com/exhausts_gtmanifold.asp

Agreed. As to why I said I couldn't put a USDM collector header on my car. Oh and by the way it's 2". The only 2.25" I know of is a few of the Kamikazis or a custom one.

5Zigen has a 96SpecR header with a 2.25" collector also. I do beleive it is discontinued though. I think i have 4 of the only 5Zigen Headers left around. they are 2" collector though for EK4.

REally, I don't know where I read that it was a 2.25" collector. 2.5" collector is going to require a new cat. Bleh, might as well look for JDM ITR with 2.5" collector then. What about the Skunk2 header though?

LSi - You are correct. I believe Yoshi used to run one. They are discontinued.

The Skunk2 header is 2" collector, no better then the GReddy or APEXi units, however they aren't even available yet. Boggles my mind becaue it's been listed forever, yet they advertise their WRX manifold after the GSR and it gets made and available before hand. Oh well.
