B18C in japan type-r engine?
My friend wants to order a b18c type-r motor from honda motors online, but he said it just has b18c on the block...not c5. if both engines in japan have the same numbers on the block, how can you tell, from the outside if it's a type-r motor or not?
Thanks for any reply's

oh do you mean how can u tell the diff between the jdm gsr and jdm type r? red valve cover,. different intake manifold, head casting, HMO will sendyou the right engine, they wont dick you ,they are good peoples
The only reason I say this is, because on the phone he said "I dont want to get your hopes up, the block just has B18C on it." It does have a red valve cover, but you can put those on anything. Where on the head will the casting marks be?
Thanks

its either a JDM GSR motor (block & head) or a JDM B18C-R Block with a GSR head..but most likely its a JDM GSR/SiR motor....
