Default header question

this is really a n00b question, but here goes anyway:
i recently installed a header on my car. since then everyone has commented that the car sounds quieter and the vtec xover is less abrupt. would this make sense at all? thanks.

Which header did you install? You want a smooth vtec transition, it's a common misconception that the harder your hi-cam kicks in, the more power you're making.

it's actually an R*SR header that was made for a GSR. it's still a 2.25'' collector but i picked it up for free so i threw it on there.

With 2.25" collector'd headers you usually notice a lot of smoothing in the mid-range, that's all you're feeling.
