How to change the wheel bearings in a CRX?
I need to change the front wheels bearings in my '91 CRX Si. Has anyone changed theirs? Any instructions? I heard that it needs to be pressed out, but I also heard that I can just bang it out some how. Need to know for sure.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Yes you need to Press out the hub. and chuck the old hub bearings out. Order some new ones from honda for your car and then Have the hubs pressed back in with the new hub bearings. I think my friends last said around localy here it was 55.00 a side.
I'd just got to a junkyard and try and find some good used ones...depending on the area...replacing bearings is expensive...almost cheaper to replace the whole spindle.
well, I'm gonna do it, cause I have access to a shop and a press that I can use.
But does anyone know if there is any web sites that tells me what to do?
thanks.

I would seriously consider this, I did the same on my dx and got the whole hub for $25 a side from a car with 115k miles. And swapping hubs is pretty damn easy. My ex has never had one go out and with just under 200k they can last a good while. Just be sure to keep the "caps" over the center to keep water/dirt from gettin in.

I would only consider that a temp fix. The hubs are such an integral part of the car. I bought remanned hub assemblies- it was costly, but it gave me piece of mind to know that all 4 assemblies are in good condition. Whatever works though

yeah... I don't really want to get them from a junk yard. You never really know how those ones would be also. My car only have about 175k km, which isn't that much, and it went.
How much would the remanned ones cost?
