my crx is kind of dead at the moment. ok, heres the story...
im driving home on the highway about 75/80 i get off the highway, go to a stop light. stop then go and im driving and then i feel like something might of fallen off or i got a flat or something and i lose my acceleration and the car dies....im coasting off the side of the road i stop it. i try to start it......and it doesnt turn over...but its got juice from the battery, i can hear it....it sounds like scratching. so then my friend jon comes to take a look, still nothing. same scratching. he says dont know for now. leave it here and take a look tomorrow cuz hes gotta go to work. so now im sittin at home doin jack ****, and my car is in the safeway parking lot just chillin. i dont know whats wrong with it.....it is a first gen....197k miles on it...so i dont know. any ideas? its a sad sad day..

 

hmmm...pops had that problem a couple times in our ol' school volvo...once it was just a bad cap and rotor that went out and another time was the freakin timing belt went out...that could of been bad but he had no motor damage...pops got lucky that day....

 

well i did some major engine tearing out, and it was the timing belt....snapped pretty good. the lady i bought my car from said she replaced it about two years ago....but its pretty badly split in alot of places.... so i put a new one on their and a new alternator belt while i was at it. redid the timing...all that, i start it up it turns over....and tick tick tick tick....**** right. yea i busted the number 4 valve... im pissed... so now i have to take it all apart AGAIN. get the new parts in.... im thinking about milling the head a bit.. but i dont want to over power to the top end and **** up the bottom end so i dont know..probably a 5 percent mill....im not sure about a 10..anyways. my car is up on jacks..with a tire off looking sorry. and i was planning on finishing body work this week!!!! arrgg.

 

sorry to hear that man. Look on the bright side as dim as it may seem but this is a nice opportunity to get some stuff done to the engine while its out.
