Tire Width Shoudl I go with 185/60/R14s or 195/60R14s?
OK, putting together a hybrid EF hatch, with a built LS motor.
I've got some halfway decent 14"x6" Aluminum rims, was going to run those. Aren't the lightest, but at 14 lbs, aren't the heaviest, either.
I'm thinking I'd use the Yokohama AVS ES100..
Wondering if I shoudl stay with the stock height tires, 185/60R14 or go with a 195/60R14 to get a little more concast patch, although I'd be a little taller and hurt acceleration.
Any opinions? Or can someone suggest a better tire for a 14" rim, for summer use?
some 195 or 205/50R15's on light 15" rims would be nice, but not in the budget
Thanks,
Haggar

195/60-14 is the smallest I would run, yokohama avs es100 or falken azenis rs... I have falken azenis rs in 195/60-14's and they are pretty good for summer tire...
go with the 195s, overall your tire will be a little wider and perhaps a little taller, but it should seat better on you 6" wide rim. The 185s are stock on my 5 1/2" wide rim. The 195s are stock for my wife's NX which has 6" wide wheels stock.
2 cents.

not to mention when u run at the track u can just deflate the 195s.
I agree you will have more of a selection of 195's.

Or how about 195/55/14?
or 205/55/14?
Prolly be hard to find though.
