Carbon Fiber Fuel Door Plates for 92-95 hatch-Now available
We just finished testing this cosmetic part. I know it won't give you 10 hp or anything but it looks nice. It is a fuel door plate for a 92-95 hatchback. This is not a fake carbon sticker! This is 100% real carbon fiber with chemical resistant 300 degree double-sided tape as a backing. This is the best carbon fiber you will ever see. Here's why... These plates are made from a single ply of 3K, 2x2 Twill prepreg cured in an autoclave at over 300 degrees, 100psi curing pressure, and 24" mercury vacuum being pulled during the cure cycle. What this means to you is a perfect surface without resorting to clear coat paints to cover up imperfections. We do use a UV resistant resin system to make sure it stays looking nice. Since this is a single ply, it will conform to slight curves even though it has cured epoxy in it. These have been water jet cut to fit perfectly.
These are in stock right now. Remember this is not a replacement for the door but a plate that goes over it.

P.S. I am prototyping a sunroof plug kit in the next few weeks for the 92-95 hatch as well. Target -under $300 for the kit-glossy inside and out

Does anybody have any positive feedback?
I don't think it is that uncommon for 92-95 Civic owners to install parts on their cars, purely for cosmetic reasons? Yes I agree you can go to far putting stickers and other crap on your car until it looks like a bad F&F car. You can also go too far the other way and judge anything cosmetic as worthless. Look at the whole JDM thing, most of that was purely cosmetic and yet for a while there all the Honda's you saw at car shows and in magazines were ITR's and EG's. This is the first part we are offering and we intend on building many more parts for the 92-95. We will be building both cosmetic and performance cf parts.
How about posting what parts you want instead of what you don't like about this particular part. We are currently producing next years carbon fiber LeMans edition Z06 Corvette hood for GM. This is the first time any major manufacturer has used carbon fiber for a paintable body surface. I think our capabilities extend a little bit beyond the part you see here. As our aftermarket program grows we will use our composites experience, proprietary methods to bring to market some pretty amazing products. (Hint) we will use uni-directional carbon and not the fabric you are used to seeing. We can build parts about 16-17% lighter than existing cf products.

Why didn't you just make the whole fuel door out of CF instead of a sticker. I think you'd have a much larger market for that.
Nobody on H-T is going to buy a 7 x 5 piece of sticky carbon fiber for ~$300.
New corvette hoods are cool, but it's not saving you this time.
slainte.

_______
Just curious if this piece would allow opening of the sunroof, or would it be bolted in place for good?

yes, and plus, it's probably gonna be raised up because it's gonna be stuck on the door which it already flush with the body, and then that's gonna stuck on top.
Carbon fiber is for lighter weight, not just for bling factor.

The bling will folow....
my vote?: Rice.

Exactly. It's not hard really. Thanks for the good feedback. We could do door skins pretty easily. It would definetly be for off road use only though. Then again that's how most parts are sold anyway.

Well we do sell the rigid stuff for splitters as well. We sell carbon fiber "L" brackets as well so I may build an ARC style cold air collector box just to show what you can do by cutting holes in sheets. Also we are going to get serious abuot the idea of making curved tubing for putting turbo systems or CAI's together. It requires some diferent tooling but if the interest is there we can do it. We would offer 45/90/180 degree bends. Right now we sell straight carbon tubing. We manufacture all of the carbon tubing for Trek bicycles. We could even build a lightweight wheelie bar kit for racers.
