We just took the valve cover off my DOHC ZC motor and to our surprise it's got 5 bolt adj. camgears and on the cams we found an etched HKS logo. What does this mean!??! Are these possible HKS cams? hmm... Maybe I should keep the motor....

Sounds like you found a ZC that was worked while still in its original chassis over in japan. I've heard of engines coming with an upgraded clutche, header, etc but this is my first time hearing about one coming with upgraded internals.

 

Is there any other thing I can do to reassure the internals of this motor before putting it in or selling it out? As in, other stuff to look for on the cam. Too bad the tranny isn't LSD! rockin' the D series LSD!!!

 

You can measure the cam specs or have it measured and compare it to the specs from HKS. But if the cams are stamped HKS I would be pretty sure that they are truely HKS cams
