My door/hatch ajar lights keep coming on when they're closed! WTF?
This just started happening to me and it's driving my crazy. I know my doors and trunk are closed. I start the car, everything is normal. Then as soon as I use my right blinker, the door/hatch ajar lights will start blinking simultaneously with the blinker. When the blinker goes off, ,the door/hatch ajar lights will stay on. Then, I've found that my interior lights (map, dome, trunk) no longer work. However, if I click either of the buttons for the map lights, it will make the door/hatch ajar light go off, and if when I unclick the map lights, the ajar lights will immediately come back on. WTF? This is the weirdest thing I've ever seen.
Also, I have a Viper alarm. When I arm it, it chirps once. But if a door or trunk is ajar, it'll chirp three times when I arm it. Ever since this crap with my ajar lights started happening, my alarm will chirp three times, even though everything is closed. My car somehow thinks that doors are open, but that doesn't explain the dome/map lights not working.
The only thing I've tried so far is to remove the negative terminal to my battery for about 10 seconds, so everything will reset. That didn't help. Any thoughts?

i dont have an electrical diagram or skimatics handy, however this appears to be either related to the 2 circuits or if perhaps they are on the same circuit, which im not sure of. the door ajar light is activated with a negitive (-) signal from doors and hatch. They are activated with the switch that simply opens and closes the negitive (-) of that circuit. Weather your alarm will beep 3 times perhaps is a indication that a dome light or other parasitic draw still exists and is reminding you perhaps to check the doors to ensure that they are all closed.
With your doors open this provides a ground (-) for the door buzzer and dome light. Blinkers however, are relay controled to be best of my knowledge.
Has this occured prior to the alarm install?? What it sounds to me like is that perhaps whomever did the alarm install taped a wire that may have been right next to a wire they were going for, thats the only thing i can think of .
Give us alittle more info

Nope, the alarm has been on the car since I bought it. The problem seemed to start after I did the s2k antenna conversion, but I don't see how that has anything to do with it since it doesn't require the alteration of any wiring (except unplugging the harness to the antenna motor).
I tried pushing both buttons in the door jam, and I even disconnected the wire harness near the trunk latch that signals the hatch ajar light. Even with it unplugged, when I use my blinker, the door/hatch ajar lights come on. Grrr....this is getting frustrating.

I have seen something similar to that before on a camaro when i worked at best buy. It turned out that when the installer wired up the alarm the was messing with the wires behind the fuse panel and he cut a couple and didn't cover them so they were touching (yes he was fired). I would check that too.
You probally flew a fuse or something. I was working with my antenna (forgot to discount the battery) and next thing I know a big spark. After I finished I had the same problem. My interior lights didn't work. My door light stayed on along with the trunk light. I looked at my fuses inside the car under the steering wheel area and I noticed the orange 7.5 or 15 was blown. switched it out and my problems where solved. Might want to check into that.

Nice! This did start happening after I put in my s2k antenna. I never thought that would have anything to do with it though...do you remmeber what the fuse went to that you blew?

I have a 94 integra ls. On mine it is bottom row 3rd from the left. It is called interior lights. 7.5A fuse, orangish color. I believe this is the one. If not just pull them all and look at them to see if they are blown. Takes at the most 5 mins.
