Default T-shirts - you decide.

OK here is the story, the TRUTH.

The Tshirt was designed and sold to people before I even had a design to give to a shop. The original design was too messed up to print and for months no one came forward with a better one, and no one wanted to help me get a better one.
I have no artistic talent so I couldnt do anything. I asked a few times for different drawings from people and I got one. A low res format jpg(not the original) that I can not open in Coral Draw to work on to increase the resolution, and can barely get it to import correctly in PhotoShop.

I am fighting the tshirt place on cost, and as it looks right now, I am going to lose about $200 from making these shirts since only a third of the minimum order was met. All the money that was sent to my paypal account, went right to Todds car for parts.

So right now, this is how it stands. Since I am going to lose money either way.
The t-shirts are ready now, with out the picture of the car, just text.
They go from small to xlarge, and come in grey or white.
They can be ready by next week (one week printing time) with out the drawing and I will send them out for 3 day delivery.
If this is not acceptable then I will refund your money to you.
Just reply in here your decision. If more than 4 people demand a refund (or $100), I will refund every one.

I am very sorry about all of this. I am not going to make excuses, the ball was dropped on me, and I was not able to handle it. I do not want to be labled as a scammer and I apologize for the entire mess.

Only 15 t-shirts were ordered, and I have to get a minimum of 50.
If people want the shirt, I will get them. If to many people are upset (which I am sorry about) then I will refund every one.

Refunds: RAB(1 - $20.00); ljr-lude01(3 - $60.00)
T-shirt: Silverpike(1)

This is the list of people I have who bought a t-shirt, and sent money to my paypal account.
JDMET-2 (2) $30.00 (refunded)
armharm (1) $16.00 (Gift - thank you)
Symba (2) $31.00 (refunded)
RAB (1) $20.00 (refunded)
Dengor (2) $31.00 (refunded)
Munscher (1) $15.00 (refunded)
Silverpike (1) $20.00
ljr-lude01 (3) $60.00 (refunded)
Shakes (2) $35.00

If you sent a check to Todd for the shirts, please post and let me know, but please note that I have no way to refund that money since I did not recieve it.

Yeah, Mike's been trying to go WAYY out of his way to get this taken care of in a timely manner. Unfortunately, he is going further into debt. Trying to get loans here and there, ruining his credit, and charging up on credit cards. All this because todd loaned out too much money, more than he could afford to pay back. (We're talking close to a 5 digit figure BEFORE the decimal point)

So Mike is not trying to scam anyone, but is on the verge of a financial ruin, and has been doing his best to take care of everything with what little he has available. His personal car that was ruined has been placed second to the t-shirts.

If the t-shirts still go through and you still want one, you're more than welcome to send the 20 bux back.

It appears that I will be sending every one their money back.

I am working with a graphic artist (my room mate) about redsigning the tshirt. After the shirt is done, with the correct logo's, sponsors, graphic, and title.. they will be printed, then sold.
This will probably be later in the year. Hopefully by then I can gain a little respect back from the people that I have hurt.

No he didn't. C'mon George - give credit where credit is due.

Ask Morgan who designed the shirts.

Good Job Mike,

Honestly, I wouldn't bother making the shirts at all.. Morgan lost like 200$ and he sold around 40 of them.. Just don't see how it will help you out, thats all..

I am really not worried about clearing a profit, this is just more for fun than anything else.

We will see what happens.

It's a bitch trying to sell t-shirts. I had made about 6 different designs that I was selling at one time. I tried to find a place to distribute them EVERYWHERE. I went to independent sporting goods stores, the mall, national chains, skateboard shops, and music stores. No luck really I still have about 17 of them sitting in my closet.

If you are going to do it just for the sake of making them and getting them out to people, then find a shop that DOES NOT require large bulk orders. I was paying on average $5.50-$6.00 for single color front print only shirts. The original screen should only cost you about $40. Figure that if you sell 10 of them at $10-$12 a piece you recover your investment, and sell 10-20 more you make some money for your trouble. This way, if you sell under 50 you atleast get something out of it, and you are not stuck with extras. Look around and find a shop that will do lower volume. Most will ask for 12 at a time or so.

LilDrgn:

Thanks for all your effort - sorry about the latest attempt.

I REALLY liked the 4th Gen design that was last proposed (think I saw a pic of it a month or 2 ago). Was that the one that you couldn't get in a high enough resolution?

Do that 4th Gen Design (and maybe a 5th Gen too if people demand it) and then I will be interested!

Hope the T-shirt venture is successful for you next time!!

Thanks again!

Yep, I took a big loss on the t-shirts. But I tell you what it makes me feel good to still see people wearing them at the track. But you live and learn, next time I would handle it differently.

Drew did all the designing while everyone said yea or nay to certain layouts. He was a big part of that T-shirt deal. The people I used were more than nice to get the shirts done in a week too.

I would love to do it again in fact. Track guys seem to love something tthat says "I was here and yeah I raced".

Mike - very big of you to own up, I would have let you keep the money for the effort and I know what it is like
