I also just bought some DC headers but I haven't recieved them yet. can somebody help me out and tell me where the O2 sensors are and exactly what they do. I am planning on installing them myself, would it be easier to have a shop do it? thanks!

I final got the o2 sensor off, ( I just finaly said screw it, bit my lip, and used a huge breaker bar). I would say install it your self, it wasn't really hard, i just didn't want to break my o2 sensor because they are about 100-150$ to replace, but other than that it took about 2 1/2 hours(that includes all the time spent on debating to use a breaker bar, or not). Over all a pritty easy install, plus you get some good learning experience.

PB blaster is alot better of a penetrating oil then wd40 but they both work really well.

For future reference, they make a socket designed to take o2 sensors out.

I bought one and found it very usefull!

You can heat them up with a torch, then wait a second to slightly cool and that will loosen it up for sure. It's a touchy procedure, but it works for sure.

ok im gonna correct you newbies

ITS HEADER

you drive an INLINE style engine, that meants you have 1 header.

not 2.
V style = 2
inline = 1.

Exactly! And those o2 sensor sockets with the opening work wonders

Damn, I really wish I knew about this socket 2 days ago. My old o2 sensor is stuck in my old DC, and is completely stripped. I have absolutely no clue how to get it out, we used a 4-foot long breaker bar on it, and ended up rounding it off completely, and the thing made 2.5 turns until it stopped completely.

Any ideas on where to go from here? I am thinking of trying a pipe wrench with a breaker bar, but any other suggestions/recommendations would be appreciated.

And, for EVIL Hx Coupe: make sure you put plenty of anti-seize stuff on the threads of the new sensor before you put it in. I am getting some tonight for the new one I picked up last night, hopefully it's not stuck in there yet.
