dude by reading your post my blood pressure shoots up, just change your post and dont let the other guys see you say vtech again, for your information, your car has VTEC. do you have any other mods done to your car? or are you just jumping straight into upgrading the throttle body?

I've heard hp gains on lightly-modified H22's quoted at around 2-3 whp (yeah I know, the ads all say 5-8 whp) for the larger bore TB's (someone pls correct me if I'm wrong), which no, will not register on your butt-dyno.

VERY good questions there. What other mods have you done? I am about to swap my TB for a larger unit, either a ported ITR TB or the STR 70 mm, but it's to enhance my present/planned mods.

I'm not sure how that question is relevant, so we'll just ignore it and assume that it was rhetorical. Now, go pop your hood and read your valve cover...

I have a intake and exhaust........I know how to spell VTEC i had a late night and messed up.....I tried a throttle body spacer awhile back and it woulnt work the car woulnt idle right, sucked a heck of a lot of air in, if you put your hand over the end of the intake with the filter off it would suck your skin into the pipe.

i'd go for a high flow cat and maybe a new Greddy header or something first. Remember if you're not boosted then the air being sucked in is controlled by a vaccuum, and that vaccuum is cause by the "Sucking" of the exhaust pulses and the overlap of the exhaust and intake valves (and of course everyone knows the real main reason is the piston pulling down creating a massive vaccuum). Anyhow, I'd work up the rest of the exhaust to be able to move any extra air you're trying to get the engine to ingest, otherwise, where is it gonna go?

Just slapping on mods to your car will not work. You have to do it in stages. I am willing to bet just adding a TB will NOT affect performance, and possibly reduce performance. The current TB is designed for your stock setup. Aftermarket TB are designed mostly for P&P IM and heads.

You slap this kind of mod on if you have P&P your intake manifold and have headwork done. Otherwise, you are just wasting money.

Guys, don't just mod your car just so that you can tell people what you put on your car. You are just wasting your money. JESUS!!

TB can give you horse power if done with other moods that will allow you engine to breath ie an SMSP header and a better exhaust, and then propperly tuning it

But you can always add a choice. Some people just ask to made a fool of by posting open polls.

Not sure exactly who you were referring to, but I haven't read anywhere in this topic where anyone (except for the guy who created it) said that a rebored/larger TB should be your 1st, 5th, 10th or whatever modification w/o the prerequisite add-ons to make it actually worth the money you'll spend on it.

As in my case, my IM is already ported & my next mods after the TB will be Portflow headwork and a Cometic head gasket, followed by Webcams/upgraded valvetrain. The rest of the engine mod list will have to wait because after that, I'll be broke through Valentine's Day.

The only reason that I'm getting the TB now and not later is because, quite frankly:
1) it's the cheapest thing on the list
2) I can do it myself
3) I only have 1 car right now and everything else, especially sending the head out if I can't get/find a decent bare one soon, will mean that my car will be out of service and I can't walk to work.

We're not ALL idiots here people, so please don't assume that we are before you flame us, so chime in late with your "AMEN!"

AHAHAHAHAHA. For the simple fact that you took it so personally..then, yes, this was directed to you and people like you.

Bet you can't wait until you get that TB either so that you can add it in your sig. AHAHAHA
