Default bass making wierd sound

i have a 800 watt pioneer amp connected to a 12" rockford sub to my 98 accord ex. 2day i was driving and i had my volume just underneath 1/2 point. i had this rap song on and then i notice my bass....like it was skipping. then all of a sudden the bass freezes on this one beat, i dont know what the f**k happening so i lowwer the volume to zero and the bass is still comin throught the sub at the same loudness. soo i shut the radio off and it goes off. after that i turn it back on and i notce that my bass wasnt hitting that hard. i checked the fuses, they were good. could something have blew in the amp??? likewise with the speaker? it was professionally installed and they both are a few months old. i got a 4yr warranty from best buy but its a pain in the a$$ to bring it back n wait untill it gets repaired. i need your help and opinions. thanks alot

any alternative for line-out put converters? they sux
98 accord 5 spd-runs like a champ

Are you ported, do you have a subsonic filter? Just my first guess. Dead sub. Take it back and have it diagnosed. The way it sounds something is wrong.

Alternative to LOC's, aftermarket head Or you can just remove it and connect rca's to the end. Today's amps can handle 8 volts pretty easily. I have never tried this, but I have heard of guys on some other boards doing this.

well i figured out the problem. the LOC box was hanging on the bottom part of the speaker panel in the trunk. i guess the weight of the RCA's pulled the chip out of the housing and the RCA's were hanging out a little bit. so i put everything back and pushed the wires back in and now it sounds good. . what u mean, can i splice one side of the RCA to the wires in the stock face?

dont got money right now for an after market radio. how much they go for anyway? do they make one that will fit the EX housing?? its pretty big
