b18's comparison
what are the differences b/w b18b, b18c, b18c5? is there any site that comparing b18's? I heard that b18b is good for turbo and b18c5 is good for NA setup. That's about all i know.

did you do the internal job? I heard that you can't boost as much as LS cuz the high compression. I dont have enough money to get b18c1 and internals.

if u plan on building... then all are equally good for turbo or n/a..
b18b isnt better for turbo... its just safer cuz it has low compression stock. a b16 turbo would beat it, but not be as reliable as a turbo b18b.
as for n/a... b18c5 is built somewhat compared to th b18c1

Is that just because of vtec? or some other factor? I dont get how turbo b16'll get turbo b18. b16 don't have torque.

The main differences between the B18 A/B, C5, and C1 are:
Intake manifold
Head
Valves
Cams
Pistons
Crank
All the motors you listed are capable of safely being boosted, given the right tuning. Tuning is key!!!!
The B18A/B just affords you a larger "margin of error" because of their lower compression.

haha you said it before i could.
diff displacements too b18b is something like 1801 CC's and c5 and the c1 are 1797.
people say the c5 is good for NA because of the high comp. pistons, slightly agressive cams, and the complete port and polish they have on the head.
and some other things to add onto that.
people like LS (b18b) because of the low comp. extra disp, and torque.
i personally dont favor the LS motor too much, like honda because of the variable valve timing and lift.

a b16 is faster than a b18b stock for stock... so why with the exact same upgrades on both wouldnt the b16 be faster??
with the same boost on each... and motors are both stock... the b18b is more reliable cuz it has less comression. it has nothing to do with vtec...
