Default what would cause the ECU to pull timing?

I've been having this hesitation and it feels as if the timing were being pulled, what would cause that?

Depends on what you have done.
Pinging will cause the ecu to pull timing, or even a code will cause it to pull timing.
If you have a knock sensor it will pull timing as it detects pinging/knock.
maybe your car is runing lean, it would feel the same (power levels off early)

Do you have any codes? Even if the cel isn't on check for a code.
have you played with the fuel pressure? It's still close to stock so i doubt thats the problem. have you done a tune up lately? change your plugs, cap, and rotor.
