Anyone with an S1 tranny and upgraded clutch/flywheel? I have a question for you (Or if you might kn
I know that everyone says to get the clutch for a 90-91 integra and that it will fit just fine. When I first did my swap, I had tried four different clutches from Excedy and not one of them worked. The clutch disc seemed to big for the shaft.
Now that I have the money for one again, I want to know specifically which clutch you got and How is it working out for you? I dont need anything crazy but I just want to know something good that will fit. You cant begin to believe the nightmare I had the first time around and I just want it to be a little easier on me this time around.
TIA,
julian

if the clutch disk seemed to big for the shaft then they were getting you disk for a 92+ tranny. i used an OE 90-91 integra clutch disk on my JDM S1 with no problems. now i use an Exedy organic with my YS1.
I used a stage 1 clutch from clutchmasters. It is a clutch for the 90-91 integra. It has held up to many 1/4 mile runs and spirited driving. If you aren't looking for anything crazy look for an OE type clutch or a step up like a stage 1 unit.
I'm running a ACT HD pressure plate and street disc, with a clutchmasters lighented flywheel 8lbs. The clutch is for a 90-91 integra that is what it said on the invoice paper. It has held up pretty decent so far after about 2 years of beating and racing on it. Only issue I have is the lightened flywheel with the funky idea sometimes I get but you will get used to that after a while if you invest in one of them.
I used a stock 90 Integra disk with a ACT HD pressure plate. It never slipped, and bit hard all the time. That's was with my S1. I now have a YS1, and just changed the disk to a 93 GSR disk, and kept the same PP.
Still grabbing like a ****.

There are only two different splines for B series trannies. Both have 24 teeth. The smaller one fits '90-91 cable trannies. The larger fits cable and hydraulic trannies from '92 on. The release bearing also changed when they went to hydraulic in '94.
