Default Life expectancy for rear hub/bearings?

what kind of replacement schedule are you roadrace guys using for the rear wheelbearings/hub? i've developed something that feels like bad wheel bearings (minus the noise and excessive heat) in the rear suspension. the wheelbearings are less then 1yr old, but so is everything else in the rear suspension. could the bearing have gone bad that fast?

yeah, both sides. both bearings are nearly the same age and less then 1yr old. the spin freely and smoothly by hand and if you jack the car up or set the parking brake you can't feel any play at all. i'm going to go through all the suspension bolts and make sure everything is torqued, but other then that and spending money to replace bearings that _shouldn't_ be bad, i have no other ideas. it could be the hack mechanic, but rear hub bearings are hard to screw up. installed and torqued to 135ft-lbs.

Hmmm , no clue, but what are the symtoms of a bad wheel bearing??

At low speeds while not braking I get lil noise from my back wheels...and even more in reverse at low low speeds...its not the brakes....and I thought it could be the bearings.....

Any info??

On our ITC CRXs we have only replaced like 2 rear bearing assys in 10 years of ~4-8 races per year. From what I hear from others, if you are harder on the curbs, this will drastically shorten the life of the hubs.

hmmm....no curbs in autocross. i don't think street driving is as hard on the car as tracking either, though new england roads are pretty crappy. hope i find something loose....
