Default H22 Aftermarket? All motor options?

Hi, I am considering either a H22 or F20B swap into my Civic. I am noob to engines and I do not know much. I would like to know if there is a big aftermarket for H series engines? I plan on going all motor so I would like to know what is available as far as that is concerned. I haven't been able to find a H22 S Type or a F20B with the LSD transmission. I have been able to find a H22 with LSD for $3,300, is that a good deal?

Thanks,
Jake

That is a horrible deal. If you're gonna buy a motor, get it from here HMO

I looked there and called them. They are sold out of the H22 S type and the F20B they have doesn't have the LSD transmission.

What you really want is the Accord Euro-R or Accord Type-R motor...it's really the best H22A out there. The ATR is H22A7 with a U2Q7 tranny or the Euro-R is a Red top H22A with Type-s head with the T2W4 tranny.

I am putting the finishing touches on what my order from hmotorsonline will include. I am buying a H22 and cannot decide if I should get the factory LSD optional transmission for the extra $300 or wait a long long time until I can afford a Quaiffe.
I would rather just buy the OEM LSD but my concern is, do they wear out at all? I think LSDs require some form of upkeep to maintain them, is that true? If the JDM OEM LSD wears out I don't want to get screwed because I can't find the parts.

Or am I just being dumb and I shouldn't worry about the OEM LSD ever wearing out?

I'd wait for the Quaife. JDM LSD's for the H22A are clutch type. They wear out fast and are prone to break.

I did a little research on this and found that the LSD's are made by Cusco. I called Cusco and they said that they didn't show a rebuild kit in their computer for the Prelude, but that if I shipped them the LSD that they could probably match a rebuild kit for it.

It's still risky though. I decided to go with the ATR tranny instead.

Do you have some evidence of this? I have looked at one myself and it's a gear type LSD...

i gave my lsd hell for a while and its still good as the day i bought it.

the more exspensive h22's are not worth it. i mean you going to pay over 1000 extra for 15 hp(its 220 ps not hp). if you cant make 15 hp on a standed h22 for 1k you have some probs.

btw i have a h22a1 i was thinking of selling.

You are going to love the H-series torque. If you have any probs or ? about the swap IM "poison"....his name is Brandon, and he has done the H22 swap several times. He is a good friend of mine, and very helpful

How come skunk2 charges $25 for the intake valves and $25 for the exhaust valves, but then under complete intake and exhaust valve sets the price is $408!?

Are the $25 prices for individual valves?

Does anyone have a very built H22 set up they could share with me?
