if we want to build a light weight semi tub framed or even, a full tube frame but still with a street honda shell car, what class offer that sort of freedom in SCCA? in NASA there's super unlimited where just about anything goes.
the GRM article that covered the SPU class up in canada is interesting.
kirk: btw, sorry for so lagging on putting on my IT2 sticker. i'll get to it this week and share some pictures.

The SCCA GT category has its own set of specific restrictions, regarding which engine can be in which car and so forth. There is a lot of latitude (like building a rear-drive Integra with a longitudinally mounted engine) but there are equally restrictive points to be considered.
A lot of regions run SPU and SPO (super production under and over some displacement). This might be a real run-what-you-brung option.

ITS is a nationally recognized regional-only SCCA class. ITE varies from region to region, in terms of availability and rules. In some places they have funny requirements for ITE - like that the car have a logbook for another existing or dead series (like GrandAm Cup).
