front underbody spoiler for ep3?
So i've been pondering this idea for some time.
The ep3 already has a front underbody spoiler made of rubber. What if there was a piece that's just like it thang hangs lower? The idea would be to decrease pressure under the car by redirecting air around the car just like any front lip. This results in added high speed stability. But if it's made of urethane or fiberglass, you can't really drive on the street b/c the first time you pull onto a steep driveway or nasty speedbump, you'd crack/scrape the piece badly. So what if there was a RUBBER undebody spoiler that was about 2x the hieght of the stock one. If your car was lowered 2", it would be maybe 1" off the ground, so you'd have a pretty substantial aerodynamic benefit. And since it's rubber, you could run over stuff, and it would simply fold back, then snap right back out. And you'd have a very OEM appearance b/c the spoiler is on the underbody.
is that something that appeals to you at all? I'm considering prototyping a design. I want one for myself. but i'd make more if people wanted 'em

How about moving that OEM under chin spoiler alittle bit more forward, directly under the front bumper like the OEM optional chin spoiler for 96-98 civic. I think alot of people would be interested, ABS plastic.
hmmm.. i was thinking that if it is made of rubber, wouldn't it just flex and bend inward under high speed? espeically if its taller, causing it to be more flexible....
polyurethane's supposed to be flexible too. if i'm right, there's different kinds of it, some are more stiff (becomes stiff as plastic) and some are more flexible (like rubber). maybe if you can find a strength/elasticity somewhere in the middle of the two, it'll be good. but if its too soft, i'm not sure if it'll hold its shape at 100 mph or more.
just my thought

there are various grades of rubber. and it would have some sort rienforcement to keep it from deflecting excessively at speed and also to keep it from flapping.
