H22 EuroR Intake Manifold Single Runner? How about on a F20B?
I have much decided to do a F20C swap in my Civic. I think I've heard that the F20C has a pretty mean intake manifold but I've also heard that the H22 EuroR Intake Manifold is awesome too. I don't get why though? What does single runner mean? Will it fit on a F20B?
I'm gonna give him the benefit of the doubt & pretend he said F20b throughout the entire thread . . . .
Good luck finding specifics on this engine - it's not very common. If the F20b does indeed have a better IM than the basic H22, it's very likely it's the same as the Euro-R.
In short, a dual-runner IM has long & short runners that it switches between for different RPM's via a butterfly - improves power at high-rpms without sacrificing the low. A single runner IM would be tuned for a specific rpm - although it's possible with a good enough manifold to have a single runner setup that outperforms a dual across the board . . . . lots of variables at play.
I would hold off making any concrete IM decisions until you actually get your F20b & you can look at what it's got already. Unless you end up doing a lot of work to the engine, a manifold designed to work with the H22 should have no problems flowing plenty of air on a shorter-stroke engine. Some simple port-matching & runner smoothing may help & be relatively low-risk.

the f20b has the same intake manifold as the h22, its a dual stage manifold with butterflys. to make the euro-r fit the f20b you need to modify the flange. oh and good luck with the f20c in your front wheel drive civic.
Sorry, I got it right in the title. I meant F20B. Thanks for answering my question. I am having a lot of trouble finding a F20B with the T2W4 transmission (lsd). I haven't found any and everyone is sold out of the H22A S type. I have found a JDM OBD1 H22 with LSD transmission for $3,300, is that a good deal?
I know the JDM Prelude LSD's up to 96 were clutch type. I don't know about the 97 and up. Think twice before you install a clutch type. They are not near as durable as gear and when it's time to rebuild them, where will you get the rebuild kit and how long will it take to get it.

The reason you are having trouble is because the T2W4 tranny does not come on the F20B. The T2W4 is on the Euro-R H22a it has the short gears and LSD. The tranny that comes on the F20B is the T2T4, which is just plain 5th gen ratios and an LSD.
Minh is right the F20B has a plain old dual stage manifold, the TB may be bigger like the Type-S spec, but that's it.
Given the F20B's severe lack of torque why would you want a single stage IM anyway?

I don't know I was just asking.
I called HMO asking about what tranny their F20B had and it was the T2T4 but I aked him if it had LSD and he said no?
