Default 89 crx Si tranny into 89 HB DX????

okay, i have the chance to buy an 89 crx SI tranny with brand new clutch, pressure plate, and lightened flywheel for 175 dollars.. the only thing is,, i've been told that the splines on the input shafts are different... is there anyway to work around this, or is it really even a prob.. thanx

sounds good.. one last question tho... i read that the 88 crx had 21 splines instead of 20,, this sounds like it would be axle splines, cause as far as the trannies i've seen, none have that many splines on them (ive grown up working on custom and drag mustangs in my dad's shop) if it is axle,, wouldnt i have to get a crx axle for my car.. or did they only go to 20 splines on the 89-91 crx's????.......... oh and i dont think i mentioned that the crx was an hf,, aren't there hubs different?.. thanx for the last time guys

Yep. Any D series cable tranny from 89-95 will bolt up. The 88 has a different number of splines. And different models and years have different clutch and flywheel sizes.

Throw it in already....along with a new rear main seal for safe measures.

the 20/21 splines that you are refering to are on the input shaft for the clutch
