my a/c isnt cold..had my freon recharged and it didnt help, what should i do next?
just as the topic says.. i got a 95 gsr with r134a refrigerant, had it professionally sucked out and filled up to correct specs a week ago, but it still isnt that cold especially when its hot out. i go in my parents cars or my friends cars and their ac is like ICE cold to the point i cant wear shorts and a beater without being cold. mine just feels like a fan of slightly colder then outside air. the compressor turns on like its suposed to, and i dont know what to check next. any ideas? please help, its hot and black cars with black leather really sucks in the heat.
Sounds like you have a leak somewhere since you had it recharge a week ago. The shops can put a red dye that can trace the leak in the ac system.
lol The AC on my other car, a 03 rsx-s is COLD. Even on the lowest setting I can't stand it.

no leak, the freon level and pressure is right where it should be, i have a gauge. even when they recharged the system it wasnt colder that day, it was the same as before itried adding a can myself. if i turn the a/c button off, it does get a lot warmer, so the compressor and ac IS working, but its just not getting cold enough. why would it get just a little cold but not very cold?
Could be your expansion valve or evaporator core.
When my expansion valve went out the car would get cold for a cycle then it'd blow warm air.

id check the condenser fins. It is in the same spot as the radiator. If they are bent straighten them out. If they look dirty, use pressurized water to clean it off. You can find them at any self-carwash place.

Yup, check that, the fins can get bent easily and can get a whole in them relatively easy too.

i wouldn't use a pressure washer because it only bend it some more.use a fin comb which u can get at kragen.
check your system by hooking up a manifold gauge set.you should read about 180-200 psi on the high side and 30-40psi on the low side.if it's low, your low on refrigerant.

my pressure is at the proper level. ill check the fins, but i dont think thats it because i tried running a hose though it while everything was on and it got a LITTLE colder but not too much. wtf is a fin comb?
Here try this I had the same problem last month. Whenever you adjust you climate controls there are brackets, with little i think L shaped pieces that move to adjust the temperature. These are located behind the dash(radio) Mine had popped out of its little groove so when i went to turn it colder the swithc on climate control moved all the way, and they bracket moved, but the small piece remained in its position. Thus not allowing for colder air.
Sounds wierd but get a buddy and have him mess with the climate control while you lay on floor of passenger. Check and make sure everything is in tact.
Try this before you spend alot of $ on expensive parts that aren't the problem

my ac isnt cold either...but if you look at the ac pressure gauge most have a green, yellow and red...and a blue section
i found that if its just at the lowest level before recharhing is suggested i got the coldest air..still not great but...better than having a really full charge that cant compress...the more the freon comprsses the colder it gets...so its not always good to have more...and i reallt dont care anymore my ac is gettin pulled for weight and BOOST!!!

I had the same problem with my 98 when i bought it last year. i took it to the 2 different acura dealers (criswell + rosenthal) and rosenthal found out that 1 way or another the heat duct was partially stuck open and that's why it was staying hot...it's blowing ice cubes now and it was covered under the warranty(didn't cost a dime)

The expansion valve is inside the evaporator housing.
Could also be a clogged reciever/dryer. That's a long aluminum cylinder
on the inside drivers fender under the windshield washer resevoir.
